COURSE DESCRIPTION
Designed to meet industry guidelines, this course addresses basic and more advanced principles of the Mud Rotary Drilling Method. It identifies a body of knowledge and a set of job skills to meet the challenges of Constructing Test Borings for the Geotechnical Industry. The course consists of classroom and outside activity with a Mud Rotary Drill Rig. Some of the topics included in the course are: Setting surface casing - how deep to start, selecting the right drill bit, circulating systems, tools for the mud rotary driller, the sealing properties of bentonite.
